FIELD: ecological processes of water purification. SUBSTANCE: invention is concerned with purification of water from finely dispersed particles and gel drops in process of flocculation and coagulation, in ca be utilized fro removal of surface active substances, fats, oils, oil products and other water-suspended substances, suspensions and emulsions. Water is treated with flocculant in permanent electric field. If cation flocculant is used then flocculant is preliminarily treated in outside electric field to impart it with excessive positive charge with connection of cylindrical metal vessel to negative pole of D C source and inner cylindrical electrode installed in axial symmetry is connected to positive pole of D C source. If anion flocculant is used then it is preliminary treated in outside electric field to give it excessive negative charge with connection of inner electrode to negative pole of outside source of electric field, metal vessel being connected to positive pole of D C source. Area of surface of metal vessel is ten times as large as area of side surface of central electrode. EFFECT: raised degree of purification of water from finely dispersed particles and drops with their interaction with charged molecules and ions of flocculant. 1 tbl
