FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: layout bar has two traverses extending preferably along the whole length of furnace chamber and arranged in parallel with one another at distance depending on width of furnace chamber, and vertical sheets connected to one another and provided with coal grabs arranged in inclined position one behind another in space defined between traverses. Sheets are extending only across part of layout bar section. Height of coal grabs occupying the entire space between traverses is less than height of traverses. Traverses define gas channel positioned above coal grabs and substantially free from built-in parts. Layout bar is used for leveling of coal pile cone formed under discharge openings of furnace chamber during charging process.
