FIELD: coke industry. SUBSTANCE: gas pressure in cokeoven battery is controlled by drag-cup throttle device filled with water and located in elbows of lifting pipes. In each separate oven, throttling is accomplished by controlling height of water level in throttle device depending on actual pressure ratios in coking chamber. In dependence on desired gas pressure in coking chamber, height of water level is set taking into account outflow of water from coking chamber and overflow of water into drag-cup throttle device or in dependence on preset overflow height. Several versions of control device are provided. Method enables independently controlling gas pressure in each separate cokeoven in dependence on actual gas evolution and/or influencing composition of crude gas by individual chamber pressure control. EFFECT: facilitated cokeoven operation. 14 cl, 12 dwg
