FIELD: production of bodies of artillery shells. SUBSTANCE: In the known method provision is made for boring of grooves with walls perpendicular relative to the longitudinal axis of the shell body, and additional tapered bosses on the end edges of the grooves, with subsequent leading of the lugs inside the grooves, according to the invention, the additional tapered losses are made with a height equal to 0.2-0.3 of the depth of the band engraving. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of joint of the bodies of the artillery shells with the driving bands, and enhanced safety at functioning of the shells.
