Abstract RU 2199140 C2

FIELD: manufacture of flexible regular assemblies of fibers, monochromic and polychromic fiber-optical plates and microchannels boards. SUBSTANCE: stack of hexagonal cross-section is assembled from unitary glass rods comprising core and one or several sheaths. Centers of rods form regular hexagonal lattice. Stack is heated and constricted into multicore rods geometrically similar to it. Multicore rods for articles which do not require high resolution are based in rows on horizontal plane, assembled in block of required section and vitrified under pressure. Multicore rods for articles which require high resolution are laid in stack in same manner as single-core rods, are subjected to repeat constriction into supermulticore rods which are then assembled in stack and vitrified in same manner as multicore rods. First primary system of assembly is used to form stack of regular hexagonal section, then it is so changed that one outer row of constituting rods is absent on one or three adjacent or five sides of hexagon and assembly of multicore and supermulticore rods is so accomplished that number of elements in any outer row of one rod differs from number of elements in outer row of adjacent rod bordering on it.
