FIELD: electronics.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to treatment of glass-like fibers with vitrification, in particular to production of microchannel plates blocks and can be used in image-converter tube. Method for production of microchannel plates blocks includes collection of optical glass fiber into block, framing and vitrification in vial of lead-silicate glass with simultaneous all-around pressing. The framing is performed by laying of at least one row of multicore optic fibre of multifaceted rods identical in size and shape to vitrified light fibers matching technical coefficient of linear expansion of vial glass. Multifaceted rods are manufactured by previous overwinding of package of round rods in fiber from the glass matching the glass of vitrification vial. Vitricifcation of microchannel plates block is performed at temperatures 590-620°C.
EFFECT: increased mechanical durability and increased quality of microchannel plates, as well as increased service life.
