METHOD FOR PREDICTING FUNCTIONAL STATE OF CEREBRAL CORTEX MOTONEURONS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, neurology. SUBSTANCE: method deals with transcranial magnetic stimulation in projection of cerebral cortex motor area. One should register the induced motor response from short finger flexor's muscle. Irritability threshold of cerebral cortex motoneurons (ITMN) is studied. At ITMN values ranged 1.20-1.30 T one should diagnose the degree I of cerebral cortex irritability decrease, in case of 1.31-1.43 T - the degree II, at 1.44-1.68 T - the degree III and in case of 1.69 up to 2.0 T one should conclude on the degree IV. It is, also, possible to register induced motor response from great toe flexor's muscle. In this case, at ITMN values within 1.30- 1.47 T one should diagnose the degree I, at 1.48-1.59 T - the degree II, at 1.60-1.81 T - the degree III and in case of 1.82 up to 2.0 T - the degree IV of cerebral cortex irritability decrease is concluded on.
