METHOD FOR SEROUS MENINGITIS OUTCOMES PREDICTION FOR CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61B5/476 A61B5/484

Abstract RU 2612539 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to the functional diagnostic methods. The electroencephalogram (EEG) is recorded in the first five days of the disease, somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEP) on the median nerve stimulation frequency 2, 4, 6, 8 Hz. Then, on the 16-21 day evoked motor response (EMR) from hands and feet is recorded at facilitation of targeted muscles and interferential pattern of the electroencephalogram 1-2 mV to single pulses of transcranial magnetic stimulation. In case of theta rhythm index less than 15% identification at the EEG , SSEP amplitude reduction by 20-30%, EMR amplitude ranging from 2.0 to 3.50 mV (from hands) and from 1.0 to 1.50 mV (from feet), a favorable outcome is predicted; in case of theta rhythm index more than 15% identification, SSEP amplitude reduction by 40-50% and EMR amplitude ranging less than 2.0 mV (from hands) and less than 1.0 mV (from feet), functional disorders are determined.

EFFECT: invention provides more reliable prediction that is ensured by the mode of study and additional EMR registration.
