FIELD: production of bearing material based on fluorocarbon polymer. SUBSTANCE: method involves stages of creating water-base suspension comprising solid phase containing 30-80 wt.% of fluorocarbon polymer, 5-30 wt.% of net-forming fibrillar filaments and 5-40 wt. % of filler material, with net-forming and filler materials being resistant to temperatures exceeding melting temperature or fluorocarbon polymer cross-linking temperature; applying suspension layer onto substrate so as to drain water from layer and form deposited layer, in which said filaments form net comprising fluorocarbon polymer and filler material; heating impregnated material to temperature exceeding fluorocarbon polymer melting temperature to provide for cross-linking of fluorocarbon polymer. Six methods are cited in Specification. Bearing material comprises substrate layer and net. Substrate is impregnated with bearing layer material based on plastic comprising 30-80 wt.% of fluorocarbon polymer, 10-30 wt.% of net-forming fibrillar filaments and 5-40 wt.% of filler material. Method allows relatively thick bearing surface layer to be obtained, which may be subjected to machining, with fluorocarbon polymer requiring lesser machining extent as compared to standard materials. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of bearing material. 28 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
