FIELD: methods of processing sulfide concentrates; chemical technology of manufacture of sulfuric acid. SUBSTANCE: method includes mixing concentrates and fluxes, loading this charge in melting unit, putting-on oxygen-enriched air blast and performing oxidizing smelting to obtain matte, slag and gas phases; oxidizing smelting is conducted in presence of elemental sulfur to compensate for shortage of heat; ratio of mass of concentrate and sulfur is maintained at 1.0:(0.01-0/25); depending on consumption of elemental sulfur, blast is either preheated or is preheated and is simultaneously enriched with oxygen. EFFECT: low cost of copper; increased quantity and improved quality of byproduct sulfuric acid. 8 cl, 3 tbl
