FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy; refining and modification of aluminum-silicon alloys through filtration. SUBSTANCE: method includes application of flux coat on refractory material; flux coat contains potassium chloride, sodium chloride and cryolite; proposed method includes also fluxing; water glass at density of 1.25-1.35 g/cu.cm in the amount of 15-20% of mass of refractory material is added to refractory material at simultaneous mixing; then, flux coat in the amount of 15-20% of mass of refractory material is applied; it contains sodium fluoride at the following ratio of components, mass-%: potassium chloride, 43-45%; sodium fluoride, 12-18%; cryolite, 5-8% and sodium chloride being the remainder; then, saturated aqueous solution of sodium chloride in the amount of 4-8% of refractory material is added to mixture thus obtained, after which drying is continued for 6-8 h at ambient temperature and for 2-3 h at temperature of 350-400 C. Proposed method ensures distribution of structural components, obtaining finely-dispersed modified structure and cleaning from admixtures. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 1 tbl, 3 ex
