BACKLASH CHECKING METHOD Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; gear trains. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of checking backlash in machines employing gearings in measuring position. According to proposed method, housing with assembly of input shaft with gear and gear wheel with shaft is installed at measuring position. Housing is installed so that input shaft with gear is arranged under gear wheel with shaft. Gear is displaced under gravity downwards, and gear wheel is fixed by spring-loaded fork which forces wheel upwards. In this position backlash between contacting teeth of gear and wheel is measured by angle of possible turning of input shaft with gear at fixed position of wheel. EFFECT: improved accuracy of checking backlash between teeth. 2 dwg
