FIELD: machine engineering, namely finishing surfaces of grooves of inner races of bearings. SUBSTANCE: method comprises use of endless round-cross section belt as tool for working outer shaped surfaces of revolution. Endless belt embraces worked surface along arc and it has climbing and running off portions. Belt is covered with abrasive paste and it is moved relative to worked surface at cutting rate. Blank is subjected to rotation around central axis along its whole length by applying equal opposite-sign torques to outer surfaces of tool. Radius of tool cross section is selected according to condition that its minimum radius value is equal to concave portion of profile of worked surface of blank. EFFECT: enhanced strength of tool, its uniform wear, increased accuracy of shaping at working process. 5 dwg
