FIELD: mechanical engineering; pressure vessels. SUBSTANCE: proposed shell consists of nonsealed main tubular member made of material strong in two directions, outer strengthening layer made in form of winding from strong thread-like material and inner sealing layer made in form of tube of gastight elastic material adjoining inner surface and projecting from main tubular member at both sides. Main tubular member is made of sheet material coiled to form tube, with edges of sheet coming together when forming the tube being placed with overlapping with provision of free displacement tangentially relative to each other, and winding is applied to main tubular member without adhesion. According to other design version, main tubular member is made up of at least two tube forming sheet material troughs. Section of each trough has form of arc of circumference. Troughs are arranged relative to each other so that each edge of each trough is placed on adjoining edge of neighbour trough, and washers with round hole are fitted onto tube square to its axis. Outer strengthening layer expands over entire length of main tubular member, except for ring sections and it has no adhesive coupling with troughs. EFFECT: reduced mass of shell. 6 cl, 6 dwg
