FIELD: electrical engineering, manufacture of discharge lamps. SUBSTANCE: external electrodes are positioned on central part of lamp, two lateral discharges are excited between them, discharge currents flowing between these electrodes are established, voltage is raised till longitudinal discharge in gap between electrodes is initiated and pressure is determined by graph of dependence of discharge initiation voltage on gas pressure. EFFECT: expanded range of measured pressures, increased accuracy and reproducibility of results while determining pressure on low frequencies. 2 dwg
