FIELD: overtemperature protection of heating elements and other current-conducting parts. SUBSTANCE: insulating jacket is made of fiberglass that grows soft in the course of heater operation; novelty is introduction of insulating fibers which do not soften at operating temperature of heater; softening and non-softening fibers form alternating layers each being made either of softening or non-softening fibers, or of softening and non-softening ones. Such jacket can be used at temperatures as high as up to 1500 K at negligible transverse gradient. EFFECT: improved insulating properties and reduced thickness of jacket. 5 cl, 5 dwg
