FIELD: electrothermics. SUBSTANCE: invention specifically refers to electric heating elements of resistive heating based on glass cloth with pyrocarbon coat. Invention can be employed to manufacture of heating elements for electric heaters used both in industry and at home. Given cloth includes 0.2-15.0 mas. % of pyrocarbon of special structure with density of 0.9-1.5 g/cu.cm carrying up to 2.0 mas.% of hydrogen and 85.0-99.8 mas.% of glass cloth with softening temperature not less than 650 C is used to manufacture current-conducting cloth with wide range of resistance and to expand field of its application, to decrease precipitation temperature and to keep low spread of resistance over entire field. Hydrocarbon oil with viscosity of 8.0-23.0 cSt which is heated to temperature of 350- 450 C in advance and is passed through packing with developed surface at 450-550 C is used in the capacity of hydrocarbon starting material to win pyrocarbon. Pyrocarbon is precipitated from gas phase at temperature of 600-800 C. Manufactured cloth is degassed in vacuum at 350-450 C.
