METHOD OF ASSAY OF OPTIMAL INCUBATION TIME OF BLOOD PLASMA WITH SORBENT Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, efferent therapy. SUBSTANCE: method involves patient blood sample taking off, separation of blood cells from plasma and recovery of cellular mass in patient body. The parent concentration of marker substance in obtained is measured (C0) and plasma is incubated with sorbent. Equal volumes of plasma are poured into four tubes and equal amounts of sorbent are added into tubes. Plasma is incubated with sorbent at careful stirring. Then plasma is removed from tubes and concentration of marker substance is determined (Ci): from the first tube in 5 min of incubation with sorbent (C1); from the second tube in 10 min (C2); from the third tube in 15 min (C3); from the fourth tube in 20 min (C4). Then values of concentration difference are calculated by the formula: Si = Ci-Ci-1 where i is index varying from 1 to 4. Then the minimum value of index i is found (in the range from 1 to 3) that corresponds to at least a single ratios: Si+1 <0; |Si|/10 > |Si+1|. If such value of index i exists then incubation time is measured as taken value of index i multiplied by 5 min; if such value of index i is absent then incubation time is determined to be 20 min. Method provides enhancement of efficiency of plasma purification due to the more precise determination of optimal time required for incubation of plasma with sorbent.
