FIELD: building industry, namely processes and apparatuses for preparing foam concrete mixture. SUBSTANCE: installation includes metering devices and reservoirs for supplying, respectively dry components, foam and mixing liquid into mixer in the form horizontal cylindrical housing having two different diameter portions and drive central shaft with vanes; tube arranged in zone of change of housing diameter and designed for introducing foam; tubes arranged in zone of less diameter of housing and designed for feeding dry components and mixing liquid. Housing and shaft are mounted with possibility of their parting in zone of diameter change. Relation of large diameter to small one is in range 1.01 - 3. Method for exploitation of installation for preparing foam concrete mixture comprises steps of batchwise loading of water volumes, foaming agent and dry components into mixer. The last has horizontal cylindrical housing having two different diameter parts and central drive shaft with vanes. Before loading components into mixer made with possibility of parting in zone of changing diameters of housing, verifying density value of mortar for preparing foam concrete and designed density of foam concrete. The square root of relation of above mentioned values is calculated for determining relation of mixer diameters and mounting necessary parted part of mixer. The drive unit of shaft is turned on; water is supplied for wetting inner surfaces of mixer and metered volumes of components are fed.
