FIELD: solar-power engineering. SUBSTANCE: continuously or periodically running solar plant is designed for using solar energy to produce water from air in arid regions at any point of planet such as deserts. Its housing is made in the form of vertical or inclined heat-insulated shaft either provided with four walls or partially open on dark northern side; air admission port is disposed in top part of shaft and air vent, in its bottom part; cooling-machine evaporator is mainly made as multistage structure with coiled pipes disposed at same level and through shaft height and spaced apart through definite distance; inlet ends of pipes are located either above or below outlet ones to ensure refrigerant flow by gravity; ribbing is made in the form of stack of corrugated surfaces spaced apart within stack, tightly joined with pipes, and placed perpendicular to these pipes and along pipes vertically downward; solar cells are made in the form of solar collectors accommodating adsorbent or coolant for regenerating refrigerant; solar collectors may be coupled with generator made in the form of boiler for evaporating refrigerant composed of mixture of two liquids and connected in its turn to condenser and to coiled pipes of evaporator whose pipes have their other inlet connected to condenser and their outlet, to generator through heat-transfer apparatus; condenser pipes may be flat and bent. EFFECT: enhanced economic efficiency of water production process. 3 cl, 6 dwg
