FIELD: method controlling state of long pipe-lines with use of diagnostic tool. SUBSTANCE: in process of investigation of pipe-line measurement data are converted to digital form and compression conversion is executed which includes isolation of readings of each transmitter and replacement of sequences. According to first variant part of values of each sequence is replaced by increments from average and first value in sequence. Replacement of values is accompanied by reduction of word length by way of bit-bybit copying of increments. In agreement with another variant values in each sequence are replaced by maximum and minimum values. Number of values in initial sequence corresponds to certain change in readings of odometers. EFFECT: enlarged body of measured data, reduced body of data entered in storage circuit. 30 cl, 9 dwg
