FIELD: manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacture of environmentally appropriate heat-retention filling material in the form of spherical granules (pellets) from wood processing waste, in particular from sawdust remaining at woodworking enterprises. Composition contains sawdust, polyvinyl alcohol, carboxymethylcellulose sodium salt, 50% aqueous solution of urea-phosphoric acid condensation product, sodium fluoride, and water. Diameter of granules ranges from 5 to 25 mm. Predetermined ratio of components provides density of heat-retention material 150-200 kg/cu. m. EFFECT: increased heat-retention capacity, fire resistance, and resistance to putrefactive fungi. 2 cl, 2 tbl
