FIELD: testing technology. SUBSTANCE: method includes placing the closed article in closed envelope which is subjected to pressure test by test gas; test gas is evacuated from closed envelope and prior to starting the pressure test, closed envelope is brought in communication with additional evacuated space and calibrated flow of test gas is delivered to it, after which time interval from moment of bringing the closed envelope in communication with additional evacuated space till moment of beginning of stabilization of rate of change of concentration of test gas in combined volume is measured; then, rate of change of concentration of test gas in combined volume is measured, after which closed envelope and additional space are disconnected, article is subjected to pressure test in closed envelope, test gas is evacuated from closed envelope, initial level of vacuum is set in additional space and its is again connected with closed envelope, after which steady rate of change of concentration of test gas in combined space is measured after expiration of time interval from moment of bringing the envelope in communication with additional evacuated space till moment of beginning of stabilization of rate of change of concentration of calibrated flow of test gas from article which was determined beforehand. Tightness of article is judged from relationship of rates of change of concentration of test gas from calibrated flow and from article. EFFECT: enhanced reliability.
