FIELD: testing technology. SUBSTANCE: method consists in placing the article in vacuum chamber, evacuation of chamber, measuring concentration of test gas in chamber caused by test leakage of preset magnitude, measuring test gas in chamber before and after delivery of test gas to article and determination of untightness of article by relationship of measured concentrations. At this period of measurement of test gas concentration in chamber caused by test leakage, range of change of magnitudes of vacuum in chamber is noted; in measuring the test gas concentration in chamber before and after delivery of this gas to article, vacuum is maintained in chamber in noted range. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and accuracy of testing articles for tightness; reduced labor consumption for conducting tests.
