FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with biological methods for protecting potato plants against pests and could be used for protection against wireworm larvae at potato plantations. According to the suggested method, sprouted potato tuber, right before sowing it into the soil, should be put into mother suspension of nematodes at titer of 10-30 thousand invasion larvae/ml. Together with the tuber of 30-60 g weight the soil is supplemented with 1-1.5 ml suspension containing 10-45 thousand nematodes. The method enables to introduce nematodes into area of wireworm's destructive action and protect potato plants against this very pest since the moment of tubers sowing into the soil until harvesting, decrease, by 10 times on average, expenditure of nematodes and by 66-100 times - their carrier, simplify procedure of introducing nematodes into the soil and decrease its labor intensity.
