FIELD: thermal treatment of materials in form of particles, pyrolysis for example. SUBSTANCE: proposed reactor has housing with inlet and outlet units for loading and unloading materials, at least one tray located horizontally inside housing between inlet and outlet units; it has supporting surface for layer of material; device is also provided with hating units and conveyer system which includes many horizontally spaced scraping members running through supporting surface transversely relative to preset direction. Each of them has many paced pins ensuring sliding contact with supporting surface and units for motion of scraping members which is necessary for motion of material in form of particles. Pins of one scraping member are shifted relative to pins of another scraping member and are spaced relative to one another, thus ensuring transversal scraping over entire supporting surface of tray at continuous mixing of material during its motion and opening fresh surfaces for heating and enhancing heat transfer in layer.
