FIELD: metallurgical industry branch, possibly manufacture of copper rods for electrolysis of copper. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of melting, casting, rolling copper rod in line for continuous casting and rolling. Hot rolling is realized in nine-stand rolling mill in four two-roller stands for making desired shapes. Then rod is passed through continuous tubular guide and it is chopped it for further cold straightening. Installation for performing the method includes shaft furnace, mixer, casting machine with rotor crystallizer, rolling mill and rotary shears. In zone of first four stands of rolling mill rollers with changed grooved passes are mounted. In third stand roller box with increased interroller gap is arranged. In zone of last stands continuous tubular guide is mounted. Installation is provided in addition with rotary shears and straightening apparatus. EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities at making copper rods of desired profile and cross section. 3 cl, 4 dwg
