FIELD: manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: clay raw material (65-70%) is broken up, moistened, supplemented by sawdust (10-20%) and blast-furnace slag (12-25%), molded, dried, and baked at 980-1050 C, said clay raw material being composed of, wt %: silica 55.12, alumina 12.83, ferric oxide 4.75, calcium oxide 6.02, magnesium oxide 1.91, and sulfur trioxide 0.05. Heating and cooling operation in baking stage are carried our at a rate of 70-90oC/h. EFFECT: improved quality of ceramic brick due to use if high- quality clay in combination with optimized brick baking-cooling conditions.
