GEAR TO REPLACE CASING-HEAD STUFFING BOX Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: oil and gas production, attendance to casing-head stuffing box of sucker-rod pump of oil and gas production well. SUBSTANCE: gear to replace casing-head stuffing box includes puller made of metal rod which working end carries sets of internal and external removers arranged over engagement zones which tooth-like cuts are directed correspondingly along internal and external diameters of glands of ring and have shape of tip of fishing hook. There is also provided head coming in the form of collar corresponding to diameter of gland space. Striker is mounted for limited reciprocating motion in intermediate section between head and sets of removers. Gear has common open groove to accommodate casing-head stuffing box. Gear is meant to remove worn out and pack new gland rings located in gland space between polished rod and body of casing-head stuffing box and is multifunctional and multipurpose means which employment enables labor productivity of maintenance of oil and gas production well to be raised.
