FIELD: mechanical engineering; free piston internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed turbopiston plant contains slave gas turbine and free piston internal combustion engine with compressor. Turbine with working medium interheater, engine compressor, regenerator and cooler are united by closed circuit in which inert gas, for instance, nitrogen, is used as working medium. Free piston engine is provided with compressor cylinder outlet coupled through first tube space of regenerator with turbine inlet. Intermediate outlet of turbine is coupled through second tube space of regenerator with intermediate inlet of turbine. Outlet of turbine is coupled with inlet of compressor cylinder through cooler. Inlet of scavenge cylinder of free piston engine is communicated with surrounding medium, and its outlet is coupled through air receiver with inlet of diesel cylinder. Outlet of diesel cylinder is coupled with surrounding medium through behind-the-tube space of regenerator. EFFECT: reduced fuel consumption, as compared with conventional engines. 1 dwg
