SUBSTANCE: free-piston engine containing compressor cylinder with piston the pressure channel of which is connected to expansion mechanism made in the form of turbine, and working cylinder with piston, according to the invention, engine includes automatic cycle-by-cycle control of delay of inlet valve closing, the information input of resolver of which is connected to indicated pressure transmitter in working cylinder, and control output is connected to mechanism of controlled delay of closing moment of inlet valves provided for peripheral cavity of compressor cylinder.
EFFECT: invention provides deep power adjustment at maintaining engine efficiency.
