FIELD: cavitation-type heat-generating units such as those used for heating systems. SUBSTANCE: heat generator has casing accommodating relatively movable working elements whose inlet and outlet are hydraulically communicating via circulation channel with throttling member. Working elements of which at least one is coupled with drive motor are made in the form of opposing disks mounted in a guaranteed space relation between their butt-ends; they are provided with relatively abutting grooves arranged on engageable working ends of disks in relatively inclined position. Proposed heat generator is used to advantage in conjunction with low- and medium-power drive motors. EFFECT: simplified design, enhanced reliability, facilitated operation and maintenance. 8 cl, 7 dwg
