FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has accumulating hopper, seeding unit made in the form of conveyor with spoon-shaped onion gripping members fixed on conveyor and composed of two spring-loaded parts, housing, orienting device, seed guide provided with brush-type piles arranged radially with respect to seed guide surface, beater with flexible blades, and rollers for covering onions with soil. Orienting device is made in the form of belt conveyor covered with flexible piles. Free ends of latter conveyor are arranged in working zone so that they do not extend beyond center of gravity of onions placed in spoon-shaped members. Orienting device is mounted in accumulating hopper opposite planting unit, with longitudinal axis of orienting device extending in parallel with longitudinal axis of planting unit and in the same longitudinal-vertical plane. Apparatus provides for oriented planting of onions and fixing it in hole. EFFECT: increased efficiency, improved yield and increased quality of onion seeds. 5 cl, 4 dwg
