FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves making vertebral column stimulation with electric current. Invoked vegetative skin potentials are recorded from electrodes arranged along paravertebral lines on both sides of spinal processes line in intercostal spaces Th6- S2. Nerve impulse propagation speed values are calculated for postganglion fibers of arm, leg and spinal cord. Sympathetic trunk lesion is diagnosed when potential amplitude increase, impulse propagation speed reduction and potential latent period reduction relative to norm take place. Spinal cord radix injuries are diagnosed, when potential latent period increase, impulse propagation speed reduction and potential amplitude reduction relative to norm take place. Complete segmental nerve conductivity disorder is diagnosed when lack of invoked skin potential is observed at the level under study.
