DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS METHOD FOR DETECTING HYPERVENTILATION DISORDERS IN BRONCHIAL ASTHMA CASES Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2121809 C1

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves recording short latency induced stem potentials due to acoustic stimulation applied and induced sympathetic skin potential due to median nerve stimulation with bipolar electric current. Significant increase in III and V peak latent period duration and interpeak short latency induced stem potentials I-V and III-V intervals duration when compared to healthy people control group values, in combination with significant increase in latency period of induced sympathetic skin potential being detected, hyperventilation syndrome in bronchial asthma disease patients is considered to be diagnosed. Statistically significant growth of short latency induced stem potentials with lack of latency period of induced sympathetic skin potential being observed, functional hyperventilation in bronchial asthma disease patients is considered to be diagnosed. No significant deviations of induced stem potentials and induced sympathetic skin potential compared to healthy people control group, being observed, arbitrary hyperventilation in bronchial asthma disease patients is considered to be diagnosed. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of diagnosis.
