FIELD: plastic metal working, namely processes for making thin sheets of hard-to-form alloys such as titanium base alloys by pack rolling. SUBSTANCE: at pack rolling of thin sheets with thickness less than 1.0 mm from hard-to-form alloys colloidal solution is used as release coating. At making sheets with thickness 1.0 -2.5 mm, release coating contains 5 - 50 % of colloidal solution and 10 - 30 % of finely dispersed powders with fraction size less than 50 micrometers. Such release coating before rolling is dried at temperature no more than 70 C. Temperature of thermal decomposition of coating is higher than temperature of hot pack rolling. Colloidal solution is prepared on base of alumosilicates. Method prevents welding of sheets in pack. EFFECT: enhanced quality of surface of rolled sheets, possibility for reliable separation of sheets after rolling due to using optimal release coating and taking into account deforming process and working modes of rolled metal. 2 cl, 3 ex
