FIELD: protection of the surface of difficulty strainable, high-reaction metals and alloys before the hot strain, applicable for manufacture of composite blanks for hot rolling of plates of titanium alloys. SUBSTANCE: the protective multi-component coating consists of a base metallic material with a through porosity within 8 to 23% and packing materials in the form of a mixture of fine-disperse powders and chemical reagents. The coating is packed by plastic deformation. The degree of reduction is within 3 to 5%. The temperature is 500C. EFFECT: production of a blanks with a pore-free coating, enhanced strength of engagement with the base metal, provided universal properties of the coating and expanded process potentialities of the blank; reduced cost of the blank. 3 ex
