FIELD: metallurgy and mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to abrasive blasting of semifinished items and articles. In process of each operation abrasive particles are separated from filings of machined material, are graded by size and, depending on size of particles and shape of cutting edges, they are recirculed both within the frame of one operation and operation by operation. Abrasive grains which have changed their sizes and shape of cutting edges in process of blasting and do not meet the requirements of blasting process operations are used in succession and according to technological applicability in processes where their parameters are optimum for other abrasive blasting operations. EFFECT: improved quality of machined surfaces of semifinished items and articles, reduced consumption of abrasive materials, provision of separation of fine abrasive particles and material fillings from process media which are valuable materials for powder metallurgy, reduced cost of reclamation of waste and reduced contamination of ambient atmosphere. 1 tbl, 1 ex
