METHOD OF TREATING WATER TO REMOVE LUBE OIL AND PETROLEUM PRODUCTS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: water treatment. SUBSTANCE: invention aims at treating industrial or waste water to remove lube oil, petroleum, and petroleum products at oil transportation, realization, and consumption enterprises. For that, water is treated with hydrophobic sorbent: cellulose-containing material hammer grinder- mediated grinding product, in particular polyolefin film laminated paper and/or cardboard waste. Grinding product has following fractions: fine fraction 0.5- 0.9 mm (10-30%) and coarse fraction 1.0-2.0 mm (70-80%). Treatment is effected in a vessel provided with double perforated walls, wherein interwall space is filled with sorbent to density 0.03-0.06 g/cu. cm.
