FIELD: organic chemistry, organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of synthesis of 3-nitrodiphenylamine that is an intermediate product used for synthesis of medicinal preparations ethmozine and ethacyzin used in treatment of myocardium infarction and arrhythmia. Method involves phenylation reaction of 3-nitroacetanilide with bromobenzene in the presence of anhydrous sodium carbonate using copper monoiodide as a catalyst and Tween-80 as a surface-active substance in continuous azeotropic water distilling off followed by removal of bromobenzene and inorganic salts excess and hydrolysis that is carried out in isopropyl alcohol in the presence of alkaline metal aqueous hydroxide. Method allows to enhance the yield of end product up to 92% in simultaneous significant simplification of technology. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis. 2 ex
