FIELD: virology, biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to culturing cells and tissues for preparing and study of viruses. The strain of cells PK-15/B5 is obtained by cloning piglet kidney cellular line PK-15 by method of limiting dilution and passage in Eagle's MEM medium with 5% of calve fetal serum blood or newborn calve serum blood. Karyotype is stable for 50 passages. Modal class is represented by cells containing 31 chromosome (61%). Cell culture PK-15/B5 is sensitive to different strains of classic swine plague and represents the test-system used in diagnosis and titration of classic swine plague virus. Invention allows to obtain the strain of piglet kidney transplantable cells PK-15/B5 that is stable by biological indices and useful for science-research and diagnostic aims. EFFECT: valuable properties of strain. 1 tbl
