IMITATION LEATHER MANUFACTURE METHOD Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: leather industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technique of manufacturing imitation leather based on polyvinylchloride resins that can find use in fabrication of materials useful as vehicle (trucks, cars, agriculture transport, passenger vehicles) floor coatings. Method comprises coating substrate with foaming composition constituted by polyvinylchloride resin, plasticizers, stabilizers, softeners, pore-forming agents, dispersant, and filler with pigments, after which coated substrate is subjected to heat treatment. Additionally, a second foaming composition is prepared from the same components and a second film is prepared therefrom in order to being laid on the first film. Simultaneously, a third composition is prepared from polyvinylchloride resin, plasticizers, stabilizers, softener, and filler with pigments, from which a third film is prepared and laid on the second film. Resulting four-layered material is subjected to heat treatment, stamping, and subsequent treatment with finishing solution. According to invention, the first and second compositions are supplemented by an antimony trioxide as fire-retardant additive.
