FIELD: equipment determining properties of sheet materials. SUBSTANCE: device testing specimens of sheet materials for twisting in plane of sheet has internal and external grippers placed concentric on axis of device. Each gripper includes pair of ring jaws located on different sides of specimen. One gripper is axially mobile. Device also has drive of translational motion of jaws mobile in axial direction, drive of rotation of one gripper and unit measuring deformation of tested section of specimen. Device is additionally equipped with immobile and mobile bases, the latter being coupled to drive of translational motion. Bases carry correspondingly immobile jaws and jaws mobile axially of grippers. Spring-loaded remover is mounted around immobile jaw of external gripper and internal gripper interacts with drive of rotation. Each jaw of grippers has cutting edge and form-shaping surfaces, jaws mobile axially are fitted with corresponding spring-loaded pushers, shaft of drive of rotation is provided with helical splines. One jaw of internal gripper has internal helical splines interacting with helical splines of drive of rotation.
