FIELD: preventing fire and explosion situations in chemical plants, gas-filling stations, garages, and the like, environment monitoring and sanitary inspections. SUBSTANCE: sensor that may be used for analyzing gas media in the course of producing many substances has piezoelectric resonator whose electrodes are covered with sensitive film layer of silicone polymers (low-molecular vinyl- containing methylphenylsiloxane and oligohydridorganosiloxane with end trimethylsiloxane groups and platinum catalyst); novelty is that mentioned sensitive layer is doped with auxiliary ingredient in the form of oligohydride vinylorganosiloxane. Proposed sensitive layer provides for detecting hydrocarbons of almost all kinds (especially benzene) and their mixtures. EFFECT: enhanced sensitivity of layer and its service life; facilitated procedure of its application. 2 tbl
