FIELD: separation of pile of flat articles. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to separation of flat articles, such paper, cardboard, cloth, felt or plastic ones in preset place. According to proposed method static charge is formed on surface of flat articles 2 placed one onto the other. For this purpose pile is exposed to action of DC field whose field lines are directed mainly square to surfaces of articles in pile. Forces increasing relative adhesion of articles are formed between article surfaces under action of electric field. Relative adhesive force in pile is eliminated or decreased at least for one of two adjacent surfaces of neighbor articles in place of separation. For this purpose, at least one of said surfaces is preliminarily thread with antistatic to prevent or decrease concentration of charge in place of separation. As a result, either no adhesive force is formed in place of separation or value of adhesive force becomes less than adhesive force between nontreated surface of articles. EFFECT: reduced force required for shifting parts of pile relative to each other at separation in preset place. 13 cl, 4 dwg
