FIELD: printing industry.
SUBSTANCE: according to invention, groups are formed from flat articles delivered to many supply flows by uniting supply flows with formation of group flow in which many flows of printed matter put in cascade at equal intervals between overlaps are placed one on the other and in which zones of front edges of articles of printed matter flows put in cascade are aligned relative to each other in direction of conveyor transportation. Groups of articles from head end of low are separated by clamping operations and acceleration of aligned zones of front edges of articles. Supply flows are put one on the other at least in one point of joining, and articles in all united and laid-on flows of articles are arranged in parallel in direction perpendicular to direction of conveyor transportation. They are transported at the same speed and with the same intervals between articles, and projections of united and laid-on flows on plane parallel to aligned articles either pass parallel to each other or coincide, and projections of united flows on plane perpendicular to parallel alignment of articles pass at acute angle. United flows are synchronized so that zones of front edges of articles in processes of putting on flows are aligned relative to each other.
EFFECT: improved formation of groups of printed matter.
