FIELD: biotechnology, industrial microbiology, ecology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to treatment of objects of environment from pollution with oil and petroleum products. Invention proposes the strain of bacterium Serratia odorifera Jap-1 showing high destructive activity with respect to oil hydrocarbons and petroleum products and exhibiting tolerance to heavy metal salts. This strain Serratia odorifera Jap-1 can be cultured by industrial method using standard biotechnological equipment and available raw materials. The strain can be used for preparing biopreparations for soil treatment and surface waters from oil pollutions and for liquidation of emergency pouring oil under conditions of high concentration of heavy metal salts. EFFECT: improved method of treatment, valuable properties of strain. 2 tbl, 2 ex
