FIELD: overcurrent protection of electrical machines. SUBSTANCE: superconductor current limiter has resistive superconductor currentlimiting member whose superconductivity is suppressed upon arrival at critical circuit current. Resistive superconductor current-limiting member is placed in solenoid; it is connected to solenoid and separated from the latter by means of superconducting shield. Superconductivity of member and solenoid is disturbed as soon as current rises to critical value and active resistance is set up in device. All components of superconductor member simultaneously reclose upon elimination of overcurrent conditions. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of current limiter. 2 dwg
