SUPER CONDUCTING RESISTIVE CURRENT LIMITER MODULE (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC H02H9/02

Abstract RU 2366056 C1

FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, particularly to a superconducting resistive current limiter module and its versions, meant for protection from overloading and short circuit current in a network. In the first version the superconducting resistive current limiter module includes a pipe-like superconducting element, shunt solenoid, terminal current-conducting switching elements and a ring made from soft magnetic material, placed on the inner and outer surface of the pipe-like superconducting element. In the second version the superconducting resistive current limiter module includes a pipe-like superconducting element, shunt solenoid and terminal current-conducting switching elements. Part of the pipe-like superconducting element contains at least one metal sheath, insulated from the terminal current-conducting switching elements of the module. The pipe-like superconducting element can be made with an inner and/outer metal sheath. A ring made from soft magnetic material can be put on the surface of at least one metal sheath of the pipe-like superconducting element.

EFFECT: invention increases reliability of the current limiter module and reduces the size of the module while maintaining high electric field intensity.
