FIELD: redox catalysts. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of nickel-aluminumchromium catalysts used for hydrogenation, gas treatment, and carbon monoxide methanation processes. Catalyst is prepared by treating dry basic nickel carbonate/aluminum oxide mixture with chromic anhydride solution used in amount 93-98% based on theoretically required amount, adding to resulting mixture 22-30% (wt/%t) aqueous ammonia in amounts 0.3 to 0.8 wt parts per 1 wt part mixture, drying, calcination, plasticization, drying, calcination, additional treatment of calcined material with chromic anhydride in amounts 2 to 7% of theoretically required amount, tableting, and reduction.
